Pipeline

Progenra is currently discovering and developing a pipeline of novel compounds that modulate DUB activity. The company utilizes its unique assay technology platform to screen compounds rapidly against multiple UBL isopeptidases to address major unmet medical needs associated with various diseases. Compounds active against a cancer-associated DUB are currently progressing through preclinical development. Further, Progenra has active discovery programs targeting four additional cancer associated DUBs and a DUB linked to bacterial infection.

A novel HTS platform for ubiquitin ligases faithfully selects compounds that target the function of the enzyme. Compounds that selectively target specific ligases are currently being prioritized for preclinical profiling. Ubiquitin ligases that have been screened include one enzyme target linked with cancer and one linked with muscle wasting disease. Both the DUB and ligase drug discovery programs are supported by internal medicinal chemistry to generate candidate compounds for preclinical development.

As Progenra moves forward with its exclusive research platform, it has identified multiple DUB and ligase inhibitors that will enter the clinic in the near future. In addition to in house development, Progenra is looking for preclinical partnerships for some of its ligase and de-ubiquitylase programs (see “Collaborative Models” in the Partnership section of this site for details).
